The Queer History of Suffrage Movement
Although suffragists were not able to come out as gay to society at the time, it is important to recognize that many of the women who made immense contributions to the suffrage movement were in same-sex relationships, and at one point, held the three top leadership positions in the National American Suffrage Association.
